AuthorLife Planner 2017 Bria Quinlan Books
What makes this truly an author’s planner are the pages in the beginning and the end of the book. This is where we write the things that make us feel whole as a person: Lists of dreams & ideas, task & time trackers, income & expenditures, valuing our work, prioritizing, goals v. Principles, handling things (delegating, purging, etc.), branding, marketing, money management, and deadlines. Weekly goal and task sections are also geared toward writers. This is a larger format planner, with pages the size of a standard sheet of copy paper. Each weekly section is made up of a page in which Writing/Editing, Marketing/Business, Life, and Joy Goals can be listed, as well as Tasks and Notes. On the facing page is a chart for each day of the week, with spaces to schedule your work on each of your goals, besides anything else going on in your life. At the end of each month is a Review page, including Goals, Financials, Successes & Celebrations, Learning’s & Adjustments, and “For Next Month.” Quarterly Review pages include similar categories, in more depth. There are also pages where you can see the entire calendar for a month.

AuthorLife Planner 2017 Bria Quinlan Books Reviews
I enjoy the thought-provoking questions and exercises this book has to offer but I found the exercises don't connect all that well, obviously as a writer, you should building to a full out something but I'm not sure you do that toward the end. I read them all too. AND I also am mostly displeased by the fact that the book doesn't lay flat and it's not spiral bound or bound in another way that uh, let's it lay flat. It's also very bulky - heavy and I know it's not meant to carry around, anything with the word "planner" on it however, should be a bit more user friendly and malleable. The pages are a newspaper type so this does help when you're writing -as glossy planner pages are HUGE oh-no-no.
This!! Oh, yes, This!!! Fabulous planner, full of everything I need to keep me on track this year. Can't recommend enough--five stars and beyond!
Although there are some productivity exercises that might be helpful to some, I found myself skipping over them in favor of spending my time on writing instead. This might be a helpful feature for some, but it did not do much for me. Furthermore, the newsprint paper leaves much to be desired.
But the worst thing I found in this planner was the incorrect numbering on the calendar. This is a PLANNER for Pete's sake, but the dates are totally off. Please see photo I attached to this review.
I really wanted to love this planner, but I am disappointed.
Wanting a 2018... -D
These planners help you organize your writing life and your regular life, breaking down commitments and taking into account those days when there's just no possibility of getting things done. I really liked the practical approach. Any gain is good gain!
The pages in the beginning didn't resonate with me as much as I expected, though I do my own strategic plan so this wasn't a huge deal. The daily/weekly/monthly lists are excellent and I like it very much for keeping me on task. As another reviewer pointed out, this would be even better if it were spiral bound, especially if you work from your weekly planning page consistently.
Would be a lot more useful if it was spiral bound, so it will lay flat on the desk.
The perfect New Year's gift for authors you love (or for yourself if you're an author!), this planner goes beyond simple day-to-day "to dos" and truly helps you get clear on your goals and create the plans that will make them happen. Not your typical planner, be warned! You'll be challenged to expand your thinking and truly commit to both the WHAT and the WHY of the coming year. Recommended!
